This chaos stopped instantly when Lieutenant Owens shouted "Commodore on the bridge!" Everyone snapped to attention and gave the imperial salute, right fist to the heart with a slight bow.

While it was occasionally broken by the chattering of the computers, the flicking of toggle switches, the swishing of lightpens, and of course the constant hum of the reactors, relative silence was just how Lieutenant Clive Owens liked it.
